HISTORY OF NORTHERN HAMILTON COUNTY

Hamilton County was established in 1819, once a part of a much larger Rhea County. The County was named for the first Secretary of Treasury, member of the Constitutional Convention of 1787. He also was served in the Revolutionary War with distinction.
