Hamilton County schools superintendent Jesse Register announced the
appointment of Michele Snipes as the districts new assistant superintendent for human resources.
The appointment is effective August 11.
With more than 12 years administrative experience in personnel, Ms. Snipes most
recently served as manager of human resources for Advanced Vehicle Systems, concluding her
time there as director of human resources. She has also served as human resources manager for
Hunt-Wesson, formerly the Quaker Oaks Company. < font>
“The assistant superintendent for human resources is a vital position in our
school system,” Dr. Register said “Ms. Snipes’ extensive background in employee relations in a
service-oriented environment will be an asset to our principals, teachers and current personnel
staff.< font>
“I was impressed with Ms. Snipes’ administrative and leadership abilities in
several corporate settings,” Dr. Register said, “She has a track record of excellence in the area of
human resources, and Hamilton County Schools is fortunate to have her on our team.”
A graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a bachelor’s degree in
personnel/business management, Ms. Snipes is a native of Sequatchie County.
Ms. Snipes replaces Lonita Davidson as county schools assistant superintendent
for human resources. Dr. Davidson retired from the district in June.
