FIRST DAY FESTIVAL AT CRICKETT PAVILION
August 4, 2003
August 13 Th. is the first day of school, afterwards all children of Hamilton
County are invited to First Day Festival at Cricket Pavilion.
The festival runs from 2:30 to 5:30 will provide age appropriate activities - from
skateboarding and cheerleading competition to entertainment from Sponge Bob Square Pants for
younger children. Vendors will be present to provide various health screenings for parents and
children. Child care specialists will also be present to provide information on child safety. And,
no festival would be complete without food!.
When the first Day of School turns into a community-wide celebration, everyone
feels welcome! This event will generate widespread community support of schools and education,
and excitement about the beginning of the new school year. It will gain the attention of business
and political leaders, and of the local media. It is an excellent way to generate strong community
partnership for education.

It is also not to late to help. You can show case your new cheerleading squad or
maybe provide an opportunity for your band to strut their stuff? Perhaps you’d like to display
artwork from some of your budding artists or even open the stage to some of our most talented
performers. Now is your chance!
