CHATTANOOGA — Tomorrow, June 25, City of Chattanooga
construction crews are set to begin working on improvements to the “S”
Curves on Hixson Pike.
City crews will be laying asphalt that utilizes a high sand content “F-mix”
which improves skid resistance and has proven to assist drivers in navigating curvy and
wet roads.
In addition, Mayor Bob Corker has authorized the City’s Public
Works department to install additional flashing lights along the roadway to
warn motorists as they approach the curves and to initiate a study that
would examine ways to slow traffic and improve that section of Hixson
Pike.
As always, motorists are advised to follow posted speed limits and use
caution when navigating the “S” curves.
