25/03 Sports Illustrated and Starter sportswear are seeking nominations for the "All-American Teen" awards, which will honor one teen in each state from 2003-2004. The Tennessee winner will be featured in Sports Illustrated in the October 27, 2003 issue. (Finalists will appear on a special website, www.si.com/allamericanteen.) To qualify, teens must participate in sports (most likely as players, but team managers, statisticians, etc. would also be eligible) and must have proven themselves exceptional in some way-by overcoming obstacles, helping the community, excelling in the classroom or leading their peers.

To submit a name for consideration, please send an e-mail to Sarah Lorge Butler at or call (212) 522-8234 with the following information: Name of nominee; high school; age/class year; sports(s) played, including any relevant statistics or honors; brief description of what makes this nominee exceptional; contact phone number or e-mail for coach or administrator who can provide more information. Where necessary, Sports Illustrated will then conduct follow-up phone interviews with coaches or teachers to learn more about each nominee. Deadline for nominations is 9/4/03.
